Here we are in beautiful Whakatane and the weather is perfect. 8/12/15 – 9/12/15. We have yet to venture into town as today we booked to visit White Island, New Zealand’s most active volcano.
What a great day out to get up close and walk right to the crater and stare into the the lake of steaming acid. Also to see the huge steam vents and the bubbling mud pits. The sulphur was quite strong hence the gas masks, and hard hats in case she blew! It took a while to get out there by boat but we did have a few stops to see the numerous dolphins swimming round right by us. Awesome!
Sounds amazing
